Massive Discount on Selected Verse: Heroes and Wonders Paperback on Amazon Prime!
By chance I happened to notice that someone at Amazon has decided to offer paperbacks my second poetry collection at a massive discount for Amazon Prime members, from my location appearing to be priced below the cost of the ebook version, and at the same time eligible for free delivery. I have no idea how this came about, or how long this discount will apply, but anyone with an Amazon Prime membership thinking about grabbing a copy should use this window of opportunity.
As soon as I find out more, I will update this post.
More Reviewer Praise for Selected Verse – Heroes and Wonders!
Another reviewer has nice things to say about the paperback version of Selected Verse – Heroes and Wonders, though this time from a much more down-to-earth angle. J.D. Cowan has this to say over at amazon:
Thoughtful and Wondrous
I don’t know much about poetry, being an uncultured rube, but I know what I like. Reading Ben Zwycky’s “Heroes and Wonders” was a reminder into what I do like from poetry. This is inspirational in the best way. Each poem is an ode to beauty, love, God, and all the great things this world offers. It’s a shock to the system to read something so pure and straightforward without cynicism and bleakness attached. It was a joy to read.
Highly recommended for those who want to be inspired, and those who tend to forget that life offers many great things. It’s a cure for the rainy day.
This kind of response to my work really makes my day, especially when it’s the type of literature they wouldn’t normally look at.
Take a chance on Heroes and Wonders, you might just like it more than you expect 🙂
Speaking of paperbacks, the second edition paperback of Nobility Among Us is now only $9.99 at amazon!
High Reviewer Praise for Nobility Among Us
I recently noticed a new 4-star review up at amazon of Nobility Among Us, by one Leslie Davidson, which begins thusly:
This is the best self-published book I’ve ever read. Sounds like faint praise, I know, but I’m mulling over graphic-novel adaptations in my head. With my drawing skill, that’s not a very actionable fantasy for the foreseeable future, but the other two books that have inspired such thoughts in me are Valley of Fear and Michael Flynn’s Firestar, so… yeah. I really, really liked it.
He mentions some of the book’s shortcomings, and these are valid criticisms, but he thoroughly enjoyed the parts that I enjoyed writing the most, and was moved by the parts that were most moving and/or difficult to write for me.
You can read his full review here:
He bought the paperback version, which is now no longer available from amazon, and feedaread would charge a considerable fee to make it available on amazon or globally. The thought occurs, do people want me to reintroduce it to amazon as a paperback via createspace? It would take quite a bit of work to reformat and catch any remaining issues, the cosmetic issues in the current imprint are relatively minor, and the copies that can be ordered directly from the author would be the old version until that stock runs out.
First Author Consignment of Heroes and Wonders Arrives!
My first consignment of Selected Verse – Heroes and Wonders arrived this morning, and despite the overcast day, I managed to get a decent snapshot of the paperback in (almost) all of its glory:
As you should be able to tell from the above image, the text-free spine looks very nice indeed.
The price of the kindle ebook version has been reduced to $1.99 (with all other territories reduced accordingly) and the same will be done for my other poetry collection once the system allows it (30 days after the end of the kindle countdown deal).
Full Cover Art for Selected Verse – Heroes and Wonders
The first batch of paperback copies of Selected Verse – Heroes and Wonders is on its way to me and the paperback is now available for sale in all amazon categories. When it arrives I will be sure to post a picture of how they look in the flesh, but in the meantime, I thought I would post my approved image of what the full paperback cover looks like (I’m excited to see whether the spine will look as good as this image promises):
You may notice the Zwyckyverse blog symbol on the back cover, this was the winning design voted on by readers of the blog in a poll I conducted a while ago, and has also been incorporated into my first piece of merchandise, official Zwyckyverse pens:
The above photo doesn’t really do them justice, these are high-quality pens, very sturdy and comfortable to hold, and they write very smoothly, I’m very happy with them. They will be used for advertising this blog and as thank you gifts to some of my loyal readers who buy paperbacks directly from me. I enjoyed handing some out at the weekend and seeing the smiles on people’s faces, and and look forward to being able to do so again in the future.
The First Shipment of Beyond the Mist Paperbacks Has Arrived
This will mostly be of interest to readers in the Czech Republic, but my first shipment of author copies of Beyond the Mist arrived yesterday, so those who wish to save on postage (or request a signed copy) can now order direct from the author for 200 Czech Crowns (plus postage of 56 CZK for cash on delivery within the Czech Republic, 183 CZK for Europe and 225 CZK for outside Europe). I also have a limited stock of paperbacks of Selected Verse: Faith and Family and Nobility Among Us, but bear in mind that Nobility Among Us is considerably heavier than the other two books, so will involve higher postage costs. Please use the contact form below to arrange this.
Price discounts on Beyond the Mist
A new more thumbnail-friendly cover image has been added to the kindle ebook version of Beyond the Mist, and the price of the ebook has been reduced from $3.99 to $2.99 (and by appropriate amounts in other amazon territories):

In addition, for followers of this blog looking to purchase the paperback version, a discount code has been created for the createspace site that takes $2 off the cover price, meaning a price of $5.99 plus delivery for the paperback from there.
To do this, simply go to the createspace site for the book:
https://www.createspace.com/5979923/?tag=superversivesf-20
And add a copy of the book in your cart and below the subtotal of your order there is a box where you can enter the discount code

and click on the ‘Apply Discount’ button.
Compare the price via this route with buying from amazon, and choose whichever arrangement is the best deal for you.
Beyond the Mist paperbacks now available on amazon
The paperback version of Beyond the Mist is now available for purchase in all amazon territories, and Kindle Matchbook has been activated, meaning that anyone purchasing a paperback through amazon can download the kindle version for free.
The option of buying directly from the author for readers in the Czech Republic is not yet available, but the first consignment of books should get to me withing the next couple of weeks.
The Paperback Version of Beyond the Mist is now on sale!
The createspace link for the paperback is now live.
Amazon link will be up in three to five business days. The amazon link will offer the possibility of free shipping to the same territory, and a free copy of the ebook to go with it, as well as boosting the book’s rating; the createspace link gives me a greater royalty per sale.
I leave it up to the discerning customer to decide which option they prefer.
